The Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Member Engagement & Office Manager to build strong relationships with local businesses, manage Chamber programs, promote tourism, and keep daily operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Chamber members to enhance satisfaction and retention
  • Coordinate membership recruitment and onboarding initiatives
  • Serve as the main contact for members, addressing inquiries and collaboration opportunities
  • Plan and execute member appreciation events and networking programs
  • Update and maintain member directories and databases
Program Management
  • Design, implement, and manage Chamber programs that align with strategic goals
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on new program opportunities based on member and community needs
  • Oversee logistics, budgeting, and promotion for Chamber programs and events
  • Track and report on program performance
Tourism Promotion
  • Act as an ambassador for the Merrill area, promoting local attractions, businesses, and events
  • Partner with the Marketing Director to create and share tourism-related content on the Chamber’s website, brochures, and social media
  • Assist in developing campaigns to attract visitors and highlight Merrill’s unique offerings
  • Maintain and update visitor information to ensure accuracy and relevance
Office Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the Chamber office to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
  • Support the Executive Director with administrative tasks, scheduling, and correspondence
  • Assist with tracking, invoicing, and reporting as needed
  • Coordinate volunteers and interns to support Chamber operations

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in business, communications, or tourism preferred
  • Experience in a Chamber of Commerce, nonprofit, or membership-based organization strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and social media
  • Familiarity with the Merrill area’s business community and attractions is a plus
