Who: This FREE workshop is for autistic/neurodivergent youth and young adults ages 6 to young adulthood and their families. What: This in-person workshop combines art, storytelling, and STEaM-based projects. YES, siblings are welcome to join in the fun! Here's a sample workshop outline: We always start with the Question of the Day to ease any nervousness and get everyone’s creative juices flowing. Examples include: “What’s your favorite cartoon character?” or “Name your favorite superhero.” Next up might be a Creative Challenge like “Draw that favorite cartoon character in a completely different environment (like underwater or on the moon!).” Students are invited to use an iPad, sketchbook, legos, or any number of supplies we provide to bring their creative ideas to life while working with others - sharing ideas, coming up with background stories about what they are drawing – basically making magic together. Our Creative Technologists work with the participants at these workshops to make Stop Motion Animations that showcase the stories the students create. Finally, you’ll share your creations with fellow participants.
