DESCRIPTION:1st Tuesday evening of the month is being dubbed MOOC Central @the Library. "What is a MOOC"? It is the acronym for Massive Open Online Courses. With many universities\, colleges and various other online learning communities\, we are seeing more and more courses being offered online. For some sitting at home while studying online is the best\, for others\, that may not be the case. There may be other activities going on at home   kids\, pets\, the household chores nagging at you while you're sitting at your computer\, laptop\, etc. Well\, at T.B. Scott\, we have a solution to that dilemma and we are calling it MOOC Central @ the Library. The first Tuesday of each month\, we will have a room reserved with the coffee on ready for you to work with others under similar circumstances. The best part is if you're having issues with your technology\, we will have a staff member ready to help\, if necessary. Keep in mind\, however\, we won't be able to do your course work for you. That's all up to you. In addition to that\, that evening will also be set aside to help those who are interesting in taking a FREE online GALE Course made available through the use of your library card.
